Feelings & emotions vocabulary activities
Build language for talking about feelings through fictional situations. There is no need for learners to disclose personal experiences to complete the activity.
Make a feelings & emotions worksheetYour starting word list
Before you print
Read through the list together. Check that learners know the meaning of each word, and replace words that do not fit your lesson. The generator uses uppercase A–Z letters. A worksheet practises spelling and recognition; introduce new meanings before asking learners to work independently.
A classroom idea
Read a short imaginary scenario and ask which feelings might fit. Accept several answers and discuss how the same situation can feel different to different people.
Talk about it
Which two feelings could a story character experience at the same time?
Choose an activity
- Word search: start with across and down, then add diagonal or backward directions.
- Vocabulary bingo: use the small grid with this list, and call words or definitions.
- Word scramble: rebuild each word and check it against the separate key.
